CJ Chongqing (Chungking)

Chongqing city,which is built along the mountains,was the wartime capital of China.

    Hi my friends.

    This city is actually my very first one to imitate a real world city---Chongqing,China.I finished this project in early April this year,maybe I can't say it's finished cuz it began to crash and then I "finished" it.Now I have all the pics arranged and am posting it here.

    Chongqing was the wartime capital of China during the World War II.She is neither the biggest,nor the most beautiful,but is the most particular one.The whole city lies among the mountains and the rivers.Maps don't work here,cuz you need to be shown not only the south and north,but also up and down.
    Downtown Chongqing is on a peninsula which covers only 23 km2 in area,but 219m in altitude difference.There's no flat area in the city,and road cycling can be an X-game here,haha.

    As it's an imitated city, so I tried to restore every details in the original city,both advantages and disadvantages.
    Traffic in Chongqing is difficult cuz all the streets are along the mountains with thousands of turnings.
    And like every Chinese city,Chongqing has a very large population.That leads to a huge amount of high density residence,which is of very poor living conditions.

    Now lets begin the trip between reality and virtuality.

    As is said above,traffic in Chongqing is difficult,so is in the game.I spent most of time building all the roads,flyovers,interchanges in the city.
    there are 2 mods can help us build a ramp,RHM and the avenue spliter.In this City, I combined these 2 ways together to build up the traffic system.

    You can't imagine how it would drive people crazy when trying to build the RHM on a slope or a mountain.

    But I made it. :D

    5 stars indeed the way of the city was made!!! However there is one little thing that you broked a star. Thats the cities xl pictures and real life pictures are mixed and sometimes can't see the difference between it. Thats sometimes a bit annoying. So realistic is this city in Cities XL!!! +1 for this work.

    Fabulous traffic system.You did really great job mixing the RHM with those streets.And the whole road system and the hills are just blended together,making the city so natural!

    Astonishing. Simply astonishing.
    The whole concept of the Journal, putting aside real and game pictures, blending the line between reality and virtuality makes this one of the most memorable, original and best Journals.

    Easy peasy to give it a 5* without any second thoughts.

      I built this city and this CJ just wanted to recreate the city,not only the good things but alos every bad side.Things might be not so beautiful but well imitated.So I thought it was quite necessary to arrange the real pictures aside;)

    An amazing city if you see how people manage to get so crowded on the hills!!! And it takes an insane mayor to build it here, too :P

    Actually Chongqing is not a paradise in reality maybe, but you managed to create an outstanding remake. It is very hard to copy real cities, very good work. I espacially like the picture of real Chongqing with the in game overlay :-)

      thanks...Chongqing is not a paradise at all with all the mountainous and high density residence.I tried to recreate the old part of the city but,actually,I failed.Because there is seldom aged or dilapidated buildings in CXL.Some how,it's just a pity:)
