Dreamland was not finished and I still may try and do more. There's a bit of lag though due to the amount of trees/plazas.
I don't use zoning when building a city so it takes me a bit longer to build it. I avoid oversized roads as I build with New Zealand towns and cities in mind. One day I will practice with RHM so I can make my cities look better.

Here are the rest of the screenshots that were taken for the competition but did not make the final 10 and a little bit of a tale.

    -------------------------------
The mayor of Dreamland was in such a rush to finish his city that all city planning when out the window. The port was put miles away from he city area which lead to huge traffic issues.

    cxl_screenshot_dreamland_01.jpg
The only bonus was that the pollution was kept away from the main city area. Not much of a bonus for the lower class who were swamped with industry smoke daily.

The port was thrown together pretty quick. The mayor had never constructed a port before.

This area is known as Snobbish Bay.

The bridges are not very classy in Dreamland. The Mayor went to change them but he soon discovered bigger better bridges would not fit. He would of had to demolish lots of buildings and roads. Time was a huge factor so he opted to plant some palms on one of them instead.

More pictures may be added if I am able to keep working on Dreamland. My poor laptop struggles a bit though and gets pretty hot.

    5/5,
This city so pleasant and those buildings are chosen very well. I like this style, and maybe it's gonna be decent example for my other cities.
Sorry for late review Skullz. Here take this all stars :)

    5/5,
The Mayor is way too hard on himself. This is a lovely town. I especially like the distance views with the city cozied in between the water and hills.

    5/5,
Good concept of a small lowrise town. Maybe some trees are too big and the greenery is too forest-like, what looks a bit weird, but i really like the calm feeling! Good luck for the contest! :-)

Yeah I think I need to modify the small trees patch I made and also add the Oak tree as I use it a fair bit.

    5/5,
Very nice green city! I like the way it blends with the surrounding area... also, the CBD is very well done. Not too high, not too small... however, I would also recommend using RHM2 but be careful: it's addictive :P

And one thing: I don't get people who post anonymously and give bad reviews...

Thanks. I will be trying RHM2 out on a practice city in the next few days. I have not used it for a long time.

I was aiming for a real life looking city and not one plastered with plazas the size of small towns all over the place.

A first word: Realistic as I like!
Details by here and there, just enough to make a beautiful city!
I like your vision of the campaign.
    Congratulations!

    5/5,
The way you plaza hills is awesome. I am gonna try mixing a bit more in my cities. I tend to stick with only 1 type of plaza and it's associated forest. Wonderful realism.

It can be a bit tricky to plaza hills when they are big. I use a few paths to break the areas up or the plaza tool always shows red boxes

Love the city! You do really have an eye for the detail, I like how you decorated the rivers and also the city itself, as you e.g. put some parking lots here and there, added some construction site, ...
Impressive is also how sou cared about proper farms on the plateaus, top quality there!

Of course, some RHM would have been wished for, but well, you can always add this!

For the very first aerial, you should have made it look like taken out of some airplane window, such that you could have cut out the side parts. This would have been a very impressive intro shot for the competition ;)

Yeah RHM will be showing up one day in my cities. Need a bit more practice first. I like your idea of the window view. Will have to try something like that.
