    What are your favourite 3dmax short cut keys? when building CXL Mods.

    Here are a few that I find useful.

    Alt W = Maximise current viewport (toggle on/off)
    Alt X = Semi transparent mode

    F2 - Hide/Unhide Selected Faces

    X = Toggle x,y,z cursor

    M = Material Editor

    Viewport Views

    T = Top View
    B = Bottom
    L = Left
    R = Right
    F = Front
    U = Isometric
    P = perspective
    C = Camera

    G = Grids Hide Toggle on/off

    7 = Show Statistics

    Ctrl+Z = Undo Scene Operation
    Ctrl+Y = Redo Scene Operation
    Ctrl+X = Expert mode (toggle on/off)

    Material Editor Window (uvw mapping)

    To rotate in 5 degree increments: Highlight polyons, select rotate tool, mouse over faces, left click, then Shift + CTRL move mouse up or down to rotate.

    To resize faces keeping proportions: Highlight faces, select Scale Selected Subobjects tool, then Ctrl + Alt, move/drag mouse to resize.

    There are many more I'm sure, love to hear from other modders what they use mostly. thanks

    Also please don't post a complete list of max's shortcut keys as most are useless in modding here.

    F4 - show/hide edge

    I am wondering is there a shortcut to apply Unwrap UVW modifier? I can't found any info about it on google..
    I usually click the modifier dropdown, press U then Enter..lol

    Not sure what you mean but you can create quick tool buttons in your panels. Customize User Interface.

    You can create your own shortcuts.

    In MAX, go to Customize then Customize User Interface.

    Untitled-3.jpg

    Then scroll down until you fine Unwrap UVW Modifier.

    Click on it then assign your new key in the Hotkey box.
