Indeed, @The Funky Monk , I mean, we are one of the most critical, but also
one of the most, if not the most supportive city builders community right now.

But maybe they have asked KR153, as I have seen an account with this name
on the Paradox Forums (as long as it is not the troll, you know...) :D

New Video looks awesome, just to name it!
Especially the train and the circle are cool features to handle,
though I find that bike flyover a bit steep, the one at the circle/roundabout...

I enjoyed the new road textures and tree lightness reduction. Skylines is shaping out great. Some building textures still need a bit more contrast but I like the direction this is going. Can't wait to see more! :)

It looks very good! The textures could be improved a tiny bit but other than that, it looks perfect!

Well I have sat on my opinion for awhile, chewwed on it for a week.
I cant seem to get past the textures, will the game be locked at that level for textures or does the game/engine
allow the modding to bring in better textures?

Yep as others have noticed to me the graphic seem a lot basic for towers and buildings? why was this? limit in game engine performance etc maybe? To me all the buildings looked washed out blueish color? are there any detailed diffuse maps, what other 3d model maps are supported? reflection, lightmap, bump etc??? no ILL night lights I hear?
Maybe us Cities XXL gamers are just used to seeing such nice graphics in our cities.

I think everyone in XL Nation thinks Cities: Skylines is going to replace CXL. Cities: Skylines is just providing something new and different.

Cities XL is good, graphics look more realistic, but that is all it has on Skylines, Skylines is better in every way.

    There is room for both.

Yeah, there's definitely room for both and I can't wait for the release! The gameplay looks perfect, but like the rest of you say, the game doesn't really look like I'd want it to. That being said, in all honesty it won't matter that much if the gameplay lives up to my expectations. I love the idea of changing policies and taxes in different neighborhoods to grow the districts you want, and with regards to a 'natural growth' gameplay style this looks like it's going to be a great game (despite whatever concerns I may have on how the game looks)! Besides, I'm sure modders here are going to have a lot of good ideas come launch time. Won't make me put XL away though.

The maximum size is 36m² (9 tiles)

Size of city I live in is 90m², but population where I live is only 80,000 residents.

But high rise apartments are near non existent, we are a low rise old English style city, some modern thorn in occasionally for the fun of it.

I doubt CSL is better in graphics realism...

I love cities xl and sure there is room for both games, but CSL has some really nice features that makes building a city a lot easier and more user friendly. Not to mention that currently we compare a heavy modded cities xl version of the game vs vanilla CSL. We dont know how CSL will look when some nice building mods will appear.

Overall, i think both games are good and someone can play and have fun with both of them.

Yeah, we should try not to forget that it's the mods that lift CXL/CXXL to a much higher level. When installing XXL upon release I could not wait to start playing before I got any of my mods migrated over so I played for an hour without any mods, not at all close to the experience to the heavily modded game! "

I'm sure the story will be the same in Skylines... :)
