I like the idea. I think the look is a bit simple. You can take the layout and development and make it a ton more realistic with decorations and whatnot.
Your street grid is pretty nice too.
However, I know how you can get rid of all those dumb angles/dips when laying roads on hills... you lay the road with a bridge flat on the ground, add you connector streets with a bridge road as well, then go through and delete/re-connect all segments that connect with the bridge road again.... then after that... you can go through and delete the segments and connect ground roads. Very time consuming but it works Using Bridges to Level.jpg U_Not using bridges to level.jpg

Great job... this is just one thing I noticed....not meant to offend in any way.

Oh! Watch the bridge tools, some have intersection paint (you can use those as a way cancel out laying ground roads in the end) however, a lot of bridges are just the pavement... which doesn't look all that real to me.

I wanted to say more but there is a time limit on edits... so I copy/paste. I really like your layout and think there is a great village in there.

I like the idea. I think the look is a bit simple. Your eye for planning is great, I just think the realism and decorations need an uplift.

    1. If you delete all the farm roads that don't have a house/farm connected and place a forest (or whatever you want from decorations) in the roads place, farm land looks highly realistic.

    2. I never use the plazas that fill an area zone... I always delete it and place what I want as a sort of back yard.. I don't ever have plaza's fill my industry blocks either... they shine way too much in high zoom.

    3. Pedestrian paths are your friend! Use those to build pre-population stuff. I use those to create all kinds of custom areas and what not that can easily be deleted and plazas placed in them. Think of a custom park with custom pathways, gardens, forests, and flower areas.

Of course you need all the mods that enable this stuff.

These points are just my opinion! You do you! : )

To me this works best with complete neighborhood grids and what not, considering every time you change an intersection each connector road will need to be redrawn to get those dips to smooth out. Very time consuming but it works

Oh! LOL. Sorry... I just really like your city idea. After you have completed all your road construction (if you use my technique) you can then quickly terraform all the open blocks (with plazas... then delete all the plaza filled blocks) and create incredibly smooth hills that conform to your street grid; buildings plop into those blocks very realistically.

You can go through what you have already built and get rid of the dips... however, this is really hard to do if you don't want to delete anything. Plus, all your roads need to terminus in a 4 way intersection otherwise the straight road will "snap' off centered just a bit.
