When mod testing in the past the most helpful way I found was to just dump the Cities XL 2012 folder from its place in the user files, move my mods folder to safety and then test them with a clean slate.

Following a manic phase of dumping XL mods into the XXL folder until the game crashed I now find steam has removed this option.
Move the XXL folder and the game refuses to launch until replaced. Drat.

Apart from reinstalling the game, or... or what? Does anyone know of an easy clean-slate option for XXL?
