I think you did a fantastic job with the city itself. But I am missing a bit the journal part. Right now, it's just images put together, I would wish for a background story ;)
I really like the idea to use the Rijks Museum as a kind of castle. Also very good concept of an italian/spain city with old walls, churches an plazas. Maybe use a smaller version of the notre dame.
