Hi folks,

we are back in San Cristobal. Today we visit the Valeda District, going from east to west from Valeda to Centro. Lets start at the Presidential Palace, which is the most famous landmark of Valeda District. In front of the Palace we find the Monumento a Martí, honored to José Martí, hero of the war for independence…

In the north of the Presindential Palace we can find the "cultural center" of San Cristobal. Close to the famous street Paseo de la Reforma we find the Teatro Nacional (right) and the Palacio de Bellas Artes (center)…

…Paseo de la Reforma is the most famous street after Avenida 9 de Julio and connects the old town from east to west. It homes the Monumento de la Independencia...

…going more to the south we can find Palacio de Bellas Artes on the Plaza de Cervantes. Directly next to the Plaza is located the Concert Hall, built in the fifties...

…more to south west we'll find the famous Hotel Buena Vista. As one of a first series of skyscrapers it was built in the 1930's and dominates the skyline of the Valeda District...

…close to the Hotel Buena Vista starts what is the Centro District. Next to the Catedral Metropolitana and the old Aduana building it homes the Barrio Chino. Here settled refugees from asia in the beginnings of the last century and gave a very specific touch to the city center...

…as you may see, the famous hotel dominates all the skyline around...

…this is the real center of the old town. Next to the Catedral it also homes the Palace of the archbishop...
