Hello all Can we make water reflections? Is it considerated a montage?

 

I have done reflections in other submissions.
Photoshopping is a tool to be used wisely.
I would personally not do something that would put new game elements in the picture using postediting... Meaning buildings for example.

Adding sky and realistic water surfaces is common in last comps submissions especially for those coming from XL.
Adding some not in game elements is also common in many submissions. I mean bird flocks or sometimes reflections also or rain effects etc

I personally draw a line up to adding with post editing elements that are anyway available in game. But i have many times added other things that are not offered in game especially in XL submissions.

Thats my personal opinion.

Jotape. . . i assume you refer to this referred at the competitiotn thread start: "(no combining photos into a montage)

The rule means no ussing collage to make photos. . . meaning getting two or more photos in one combination and posting it as "1 photo". It is a rule to keep the whole thing down to only 10 simple images.

So, imho, this is a "no"




etc. . .

Putting water reflections ( i assume reversing the original image ) or adding other elements is superimposing and it's finally one single photo / image. It's the same as posting an image with letters on it, like the city's name, or birds, or a small boat "glued" on etc. That's good and ( always imho ) a "do it".

There are some photos for which I have found better replacements.

Wow, splendid 5th photo, @XOUSTE! The 1st image looks good as well, but in the 5th image, the different "layers" create a wide city range, deapite the city of course is not finished yet. On top of that, the construction site in front adds a vibrant feeling.

All in all, you did a master's job, especially the recreational sites look brilliant
The only thing I miss is a bit of futurism, it looks a bit like a common city to me.

@needspeed17, you have added another jewel to this competition. I love the highways you show, and the residential areas are well planned. Great job

But, if @IcyHot does it like for the last challenge, I have time until November 1st, 12:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, so about 9:00 a.m. in Germany. But in Germany, Nov 1st is a holiday, so I can work the whole night long on the images
